Click on one or more of the following activities to practice what you have just learned. You do not have to complete all of them, just choose an activity or two that appeals to you!

Alphabet Number Magnets - ABCYa!
  • Play with the numbers and listen their names as you move them on to the fridge
  • See if you can arrange them in order just like on our number track
  • Variation: If you have a real set of fridge number magnets, use them!
  • Practice counting forwards and backwards
Birthday Candle Counting - ABCYa!
  • Light the candles to count how many there are on each cake
  • Match the number that you count with the correct written numeral
  • Listen to the narrator count, or count along!
Counting 1-10 Song - The Singing Walrus
  • Another song that practices counting forwards between 1 and 10
  • You can also sing backwards from 10 to 1
Counting Puzzle Strips (0-10) - McMahon Education
  • Adult help required here!
  • Practice counting forwards up to 10
  • Select which puzzle you would like to solve, or choose more than one!
  • Cut up the puzzle into strips, mix up the pieces, reorder them, then paste the completed into your workbook
  • Variation: laminate before slicing into strips to make a reusable puzzle

  • If counting back proves to be very tricky, this game will provide a gentle practice of counting back from 3 to 0
  • Help Curious George launch the rocket by counting back from 3 to 0!
Dot to Dot Numbers 1-10 - Worksheet Fun
  • Select a worksheet that you are most interested in
  • Complete the dot-to-dot, then colour it in when you are finished
  • This is a great opportunity to practice using a ruler
  • Variation: Try working backwards; start at dot 10, and work back to dot 1
Number Flash Cards - SparkleBox
  • Pick any set with numerals (1,2,3 etc), and print up to the number 10
  • Pictures and spots are okay, we’re looking to build up numeral recognition here
  • Tip: Choose a set that has numbers up to 30 so you can extend your practice once you have mastered numbers 0-10
  • Alternatively, make your own flash cards by writing numerals on cards
  • Variation 1: Practice reading numbers forwards
  • Variation 2: Practice reading numbers backwards
  • Variation 3: Shuffle the cards and read the numbers in random order
  • NB: The Counting 0-20 lesson requires a specific set of flashcards to be printed, so please have a look at that lesson if you would like to prepare efficiently
Teddy Numbers - Top Marks
  • Practice counting objects by giving Teddy the correct number of cupcakes
  • Start with counting ‘Numbers up to 5’, then move on to ‘Numbers up to 10’
  • Extension: Count ‘Numbers up to 15’ and if you like, try the 'Words up to ...' tasks
Underwater Counting - Top Marks
  • Go on a treasure hunt with the scuba diver
  • Count the sea creatures to reveal the treasure
  • Start with ‘Counting up to 5’, then move on to ‘Counting up to 10’
